HOW TO WORSHIP A KING by Zach Neese

From the book - HOW TO WORSHIP A KING by Zach Neese

He has created us for action, for glory, for victory, for power and for Himself.

WHO AM I?

So many times we always asking ourselves this question WHO AM I.

PSALM 139: 13 – 16 “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. (vs 14) Thank you for making me so wonderful complex! Your workmanship is marvelous – how well I know it. (vs 15) You watched me as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. (vs 16) You saw me before I was born. Everyday of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.”

·      I am wonderfully and fearfully made in God’s image.

·      I am a Priest – 1 Peter 2:5 “And you are living stones that God is building into His spiritual temple. What’s more, you are His holy priests. Through the meditation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God.”

*God has called us and ordained us and qualified us to be a priest! Priests are meant to worship God and to help other people worship God. We are a Priests because we are a child of God.

WHAT DO I DO AS A PRIEST?

1. STEWARD MEETING PLACES – Numbers 1: 49-53

* It is the priests (Levites) responsibilities to set up, tear down, transport, guard, and attend to the ministry of the tabernacle. Priest steward the tabernacle. We are to set up meeting places between God and people and we are to carry the meeting place with us wherever we go. We can help lead people to experience God. Only priests can set up meeting places between God and people. Only priests can steward tabernacles.

2. CARRY THE PRESENCE OF GOD – Deuteronomy 10: 8-9

·      Only the Levitical Priests were permitted to carry the Ark of the Covenant and only on their shoulders with the poles that God instructed Moses to build for that purpose. The Ark of the Covenant represents the Presence of God on Earth, the throne of God among His people, and the glory of God. Where the Ark goes, the blessing, authority, and power of God goes. And you get to carry it! That is what a priest is – an ambassador for Christ.

3. MINISTER TO GOD – Deuteronomy 10:8

·      This part of our job gets to the very essence of what worship is. Worship is simply NOT for us. IT IS FOR GOD! It is ministry for His pleasure, His heart, His opinion, His tastes, and His desires. It was never meant for the entertainment of man. IT IS GOD”S!
·      Worship belongs to God. It is not about my tastes or preferences and it is not mine to judge. A priest’s first ministry is to God. Worship is just that – ministry to the King of kings and it is what we were made for.

4. BLESS THE PEOPLE – We minister to God and He shows up and He ministers to us. A biblical blessing was not given to tickle a person’s fancy, nor was it intended to cause a feeling that lasts only for a short time. Biblical blessings catalyze destiny in people’s lives.

·      I believe that it is a priest’s job to see the world, not as it appears to the naked eyes, but as it appears through the eyes of God. When you see a person through the eyes of God, you do not call them according to the flesh and what they currently are but according to their potential – their future. Priests must exercise the gift of calling a piece of coal a diamond when it is still buried in the dirt.

5. HELPING OTHERS WORSHIP GOD – 2Kings 17:26-28

In this story the priests blessed the people by teaching them to be worshippers, and the lion went away. It is one thing to say something, it is another to do something. As a priest, one of the ways that you bless people is by equipping them to fulfill their God-given calling. We are chosen to show the fallen world the rituals, or acts of worship of our God. We must teach the world to worship so that they will learn to fear and follow God, and He will heal our land.
